A compilation of information about Solresol, the universal musical language

Adapted Inuktitut Syllabary

Proposals and discussions about additional forms of Solresol
So, Inuktitut is an Eskimo-Aleut language native to what is now mostly northern Canada. The language has a lot in common with Greenlandic and Iñupiaq (a native language in Alaska). I've taken to learning it because I love the high level of agglutination.

Inuktitut can be written in the Latin alphabet or in its own syllabary, which can be found here:

http://www.omniglot.com/writing/inuktitut.htm

Now, as with Japanese's syllabary, I'm sure it can be adapted to write Solresol as well, the only problem is that the fonts are not common and I don't have them currently installed on my comp, so it's hard for me to give an example. :/ Garrison, Dan, someone, help!
Thanks to Unicode, you don't need a dedicated font. Unicode has a section called "Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics" that contains the characters of the Inuktitut language. Below I've posted the whole mess of them to show this site supports them. They should show for you if you're using a computer made in the last 10 years (or 15 years with a special compatibility layer); the most commonly used fonts on computers support Unicode.

Hmmm...and yet I only see boxes (both in your post and on the Wiki page). Holy egg shells, Batman!

My comp is only about 5 years old and I'm using Windows...so I dunno what's up. :?

Make sure that you have a Inuktitut unicode font installed.

Here is the Inuktitut 'form':
ᑐ do [to]
ᕂ re
ᒥ mi
ᕙ fa
ᓱ sol [so]
ᓚ la
ᑎ si [ti]

Could you explain these? I don't know anything about Inuktitut.

These are the 'Solresol syllables' of Inuktitut.
Of course, their sound values don't match always the Solresol values, that's why I added the correct pronounciation to the characters ᑐ, ᓱ and ᑎ.

As you may notice, ᑎ (ti) is the same as ᑐ (to), just rotated.
Well, that's characteristic in this writing system.
